I love quotes! I collect quotes that really touch me in some way. Some of my favorite ones are:

"We come to love, not by finding a perfect person, but by leaning to see an imperfect person perfectly." Sam Keen

"Though no one can go back and make a brand new start, anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending." Carl Bard

"Never miss an opportunity to make others happy, even if you have to leave them alone in order to do it."

"Some people, no matter how old they get, never lose their beauty - they merely move it from their faces to their hearts." Martin Buxbaum

" I have not failed. I have merely found ten thousand ways that won't work." Thomas Edison

We had our winter uniforms and summer ones. Our poor moms had to make them all. The white one was obviously for summer. We lead the marching band in the summer parades. What would Pioneer Day be without a band and majorettes? Becky Busteed is on the left, then me in the middle and Betty Miller on the right.

These are some pictures that I don't think even my kids have seen. They are of me as a sophomore. I was a majorette and can still throw a baton pretty high and catch it as it spins. We used to perform at basketball and football games and did the flag ceremony at each one. Where did those legs go???? I still look like this on the inside and in my mind.

This is a picture of my parents at the junior prom in Cowley, Wyoming in 1946. They have been together for almost 60 years now.

This is one of my favorite pictures ever. It is my grandmother Hope Ballard Eyre. She was a crack shot and would hunt rabbits to help feed the family in Cowley, Wyoming.
I have had so much fun going over all my old photos. I realize what a grand heritage I have in both my parents and grandparents. This is my Mom (Leta Eyre) at her 8th grade graduation. She's so cute.

There is a kid, well he's a man now, from my hometown that is hosting a site for the people of Cowley, Wyoming. Thanks Gib Fisher. He asked me to upload pictures and scan my annuals. I have done this and came across this picture of one of my elementary pictures. Can you tell which one is me? I'm in the back row in the center. I started out tall and ended up at 5'7" by junior high.

Look how things have changed in the world. Wayne and his friends are at school wearing real guns with real ammo. Nobody even gave it a thought that they might shoot someone. Now you can't even bring a toy gun to school. I sometimes wish for those more innocent times.

I have been going through my old yearbooks, and scrapbooks lately. I found an old picture of Wayne that was taken the first year we were dating. He looks so cute and young. I think he is 21 here. No wonder I fell head over heels for him.

I have come to the conclusion that I have an addiction. I love chocolate and cannot go a day without it. I like my chocolate dark and high quality for the most part, but will bow to eating M&M's or a snicker bar. (or about anything else that is placed in front of me) My favorite candy bar is a Bing. The only place I can get them in Utah is at the Maverick gas station and then they are not always fresh. The center is a mild cherry fondant that's surrounded by chocolate with crushed peanuts all through it. This is not dark chocolate but the peanuts take away the too sweet flavor. I love dark chocolate truffles, and dark chocolate mints. I have not hit bottom yet and I may need an intervention to get me off of it. Until then, I think I will just enjoy.

Wayne's Aunt Betty Ostler from Billings, MT died a few weeks ago. Before she died she was getting rid of some stuff that she had accumulated. This is a photo of Wayne and me (the year before we got married) that she had. I had not seen it before and Colett owns it now, but I scanned it for my blog. You know back then I had to work hard to get my hair to flip just right and to wear my skirts above my knees but not too short. It's funny, but I don't even remember that dress. We wore a lot of shifts back then.....straight down, not much shape.

I got a new haircut today. It's amazing how good chopping off just two inches can feel. I am getting so many gray roots that I told my hairdresser that I may go blonde so I don't have to keep touching them up. Oh well, so glad for her expertise. She is the cutest little hairdresser (as young as my daughters but doesn't treat me like an old lady). She keeps me up with the trends.

It's almost Valentine's Day and I am finishing up making all my Valentines this year....so far up to 17. I love to scrapbook, an this is just another mini form of it. I try to make each Valentine

fit the person's personality. Here is a sample that I made for Wayne.

We are headed to Disneyland with all the kids and grandkids at the end of February. We are all trying to stay well but right now Alex is sick with a staff infection in his intestine and has lost 23 pounds, Joey and Toby are home for the week with asthma, and I am trying not to fall down from the slick sidewalks everywhere. Since my fall, my knee and ankle still don't seem to want to work together. We have a snow blower for which we are grateful and Wayne has had to use it several times a week. Last Sunday we had a snow day from church. Very few could even get out of their driveways and Wayne spent several hours helping the neighbors dig out too.
